Dragon Quest XI: Final edition at the top of Japanese sales

It has only been released for a few days, but Square Enix Dragon Quest XI: definitive edition is already conquering the world.

A few months after his exit on PC, the game came out on Nintendo Switch last week, with a new retro mode allowing players to enjoy it in a classic style. And that seemed to be a sufficient draw to make the game the seller number one last week, based on Japanese sales figures.

The game has managed to sell more than 303,000 copies in its infancy, a huge number for the series. This puts the game in the running for one of the best game launches in Japan for the year. Dragon Quest XI also helped to propel sales of Nintendo Switch to new heights this week The basic model sold just over 115,000 units last week, which has brought the total sales to 9, 1 million for the region.
