Today, during Quakecon 2021, Bethesda revealed the return of the Quake series to modern consoles and PC through a new improved version of the classic first-person shooting game. This improved port is available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. It is also compatible with earlier versions of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S.
Quake is a title known as the father of all modern FPS. This new improved edition was created to celebrate its 25th anniversary and can mark the beginning of a new generation of Quake competitive players thanks to its wide accessibility.
This new version of Quake can be run with a 4K resolution and has support for wide screen. There are also many visual additions and quality of quality of performance to adapt to the modern needs of shooting players. Improved models are present, dynamic lighting, smoothing, depth of field and more options.
The new port also supports the multiplatform game between all versions of the game for battles in the eight-player arena. There is also a cooperative mode for four players for the campaign for a player, the original expansion and two campaign accessories, but it is not indicated if online capabilities in this way include multiplatform gameplay.
In addition to that content, there will be tons of free levels created by users thanks to the add-ons. Bethesda confirms that Quake will receive subsequent updates to the launch for the best content created by the community.
PC players who already have Quake through Steam or Bethesda.net can simply update their digital copy without charge to this improved edition. All others can buy Quake for $ 10. It is also available at Xbox Game Pass for Subscribers.
